Weekend in Brandenburg – Hof Obst – amazing farm stay
A few weekends ago, for the first time since quarantine, we went away for two days.
We were quite lucky – since that weekend, the restrictions on renting holiday apartments were relaxed and we could leave Berlin for more than one day.
We managed to book 2 nights in Hof Obst agro-tourism. This was a place that I have had on my list ‘to visit’ for a long time and I was very happy that we finally succeeded.
Hof Obst – farm stay in Brandenburg
Hof Obst is a beautiful farm stay, located in the Brandenburg area – Prignitz.
The beautiful 100-year-old house has been wonderfully renovated – with great attention to detail.
On site, there are two fully equipped holiday apartments for rent, which are located on the first floor of a beautiful house where the owners live.
Each apartment can accommodate up to 6 people.
The apartments are beautiful and very comfortable, there is nothing missing in them.
Beds are very comfortable, in the kitchen you will find absolutely everything you may need during your stay.
In one of the rooms there is also a children’s corner with toys, games, books and puzzles.
We really relaxed during our stay in Hof Obst – it was so nice and calm.
There are also animals on the farm: hens, horses, sheep. You will for sure meet a cat as well.
The owner of Hof Obst has invited our children to pick eggs from hens and it was so much fun for them that it was so nice to watch. And at the end they received the collected eggs as a gift and we made delicious scrambled eggs for dinner.
There was also a playground prepared for the children and there is a large trampoline where my kids spent most of their time.
There are places to rest, a beautiful garden – Hof Obst is a really great place.
I can’t help but mention the owner – Rouven – a wonderful person who is always willing to talk about the farm and animals.
Our stay was incredibly pleasant and we think of Hof Obst out of longing and I hope that we will be able to come back one day.
Attractions in the Hof Obst neighbourhood
Hof Obst is located in a small, quiet village with the remains (renovated) of an old church.
Nearby there is a forest to which you can take a nice walk.
There are also hiking and cycling trails not far away, and you can rent bikes and a trailer to carry children for free in Hof Obst.
I was also very hoping to visit the island of Insl in Kyritz – I’ve read so much about this place and it seems to be great, but unfortunately because of Corona it was still closed.
We went on a 30km cycling trip Bad Wilsnack – Rühstadt – Bad Wilsnack on Sunday, before returning home. I recommend this route and you can read more about it here.
And how to get to Hof Obst (from Berlin)?
I have tried two ways: by train (to get there) and by car (back).
By train from Berlin:
I took a train from Alexanderplatz to Neustadt (Dosse) and there we changed for train to Rosenwinkel.
The Rosenwinkel station is located ‘in the middle of nowhere’. – the train stops in the forest (there is only a small shed where you can hide from the rain). From there to Hof Obst it is ok. 2km on foot. And it is a very pleasant walk – you walk in the forest and among meadows, it was the most pleasant part of our journey :).
By car from Berlin:
It takes about 1.40-2 hours to get there from the north of Berlin.
Holiday in Hof Obst was a great time and I highly recommend this place!
