Poznan and surroundings with Kids – family adventure in Poland

    Poznan with kids

We just an exciting four days exploring Poznan and the surrounding areas, thanks to an invitation from the Poznan Tourism Organization. Even though our itinerary was packed, we couldn’t cover everything this amazing city has to offer. Poznan and its surroundings are full of family-friendly attractions, ensuring no one will be bored – whether adults or kids. Here’s a list of spots we visited and would confidently recommend to families with children.

Things to do in Poznan with kids

    ICHOT – Gate of Poznan

This is a must-see for families visiting Poznan. The Interactive Center of Ostrów Tumski History (ICHOT) is fantastic for kids, with a special tour featuring audio guides in multiple languages. Kids can learn history through play, thanks to interactive exhibits designed for younger visitors. Even the liveliest little ones will be captivated here. This was actually our second visit, and we loved it just as much as the first time.

    The Poznan Croissant Museum

Poznan is famous for its Saint Martin’s croissants, and this museum offers an interactive experience where you can learn about this unique treat’s history. Kids and adults alike can enjoy a hands-on baking lesson, and we highly recommend visiting at 11:00 a.m. so you can also catch the famous goat statues at the Town Hall at noon. The local culture and humor are guaranteed to make you smile! 😉

    Termy Maltańskie Aquapark

For water-lovers, this aquapark is paradise. Kids can enjoy tons of slides, inflatable obstacles, and even a water parkour course—our daughters were thrilled! The outdoor area, with views of Lake Malta, is perfect for warm days, and the variety of attractions ensures fun for the whole family.

    Old Town Square

The renovated Poznan Old Town Square is a charming spot for a family stroll. You can admire the beautiful townhouses, relax on the benches, and choose from a wide range of dining options.

    The Maltanka Train Ride

A fun experience for train enthusiasts, this ride takes you along the shores of Lake Malta. It’s not just about the views; kids will love the ride itself. There are also several spots for walks and picnics around the train route.

    Playgrounds in Poznan

Although we didn’t have much time, we managed to check out a few playgrounds. “Wartofrajda” near the Old Town Square was a favorite, and “Park Tysiąclecia” near our hotel also had a nice playground. If you’re planning to do some shopping, stop by Stary Browar mall, which has a park and playground where kids can let off steam while parents relax.

Where to stay in Poznan with kids

We stayed at Novotel Malta Hotel, our second visit there, and it’s perfect for a family getaway. It’s close to the city center yet near Park Tysiąclecia, so you get the best of nature and city convenience. The outdoor pool with a lifeguard was a hit with our kids, especially on hot days, and they begged for pool time daily. There’s also a relaxing area with hammocks and loungers, ideal after a full day of sightseeing. The rooms are spacious, and adjoining rooms are available for larger families. Kids can enjoy a play corner, and the delicious breakfast is a perfect start to the day.

    Family-Friendly restaurants in Poznan

We found some great spots for family meals. The restaurant in Hotel Kolegiacki surprised us with its hidden rooftop terrace, offering fantastic city views. Be sure to try the eggplant filet and fish soup —delicious! There’s also a kid’s menu, which was a big hit with our daughters.

Dynx Restaurant in Srodka impresses not only with its tasty food, but also with its thoughtful interior design and friendly service. A children’s menu is available.

For my own evening catch-ups, I visited two cool spots recommended by my friend Daria, who runs the Poznan blog “Poznańska Spacerówka”:

KontenerArt – A spacious venue with lots of food options and a unique vibe.

Ogród Szeląg – A lovely spot surrounded by greenery; definitely a new favorite!

    Exploring around Poznan with kids

Kórnik – castle, lake, and arboretum with kids

Just 30 minutes from Poznan, Kórnik was a delightful surprise with plenty to offer. We started the day with a boat ride on Lake Kórnickie – ideal for relaxing and enjoying the views. Then we explored Kórnik Castle, where kids can use an audio guide tailored for them, immersing them in stories about the castle’s history.

And we loved the Arboretum, a beautiful spot for a family walk with lovely plants and charming paths. There’s a playground and an educational clearing for kids. Our eldest daughter enjoyed the treasure hunt game – such a fun activity!

Rogalin with kids – history and nature combined

We spent a day at the Raczyński Palace in Rogalin, a wonderful blend of history and nature. After a palace tour, you can check out the art exhibition and explore the beautiful garden. Rogalin is also famous for its ancient oaks, “Lech,” “Czech,” and “Rus,” and seeing an 800-year-old tree was awe-inspiring for all of us.

Szreniawa – an unexpectedly interesting museum

Our last stop was the Szreniawa Museum of Agriculture. It may sound like a static experience, but it’s actually packed with interactive exhibits. Kids can touch and explore everything, see farm animals, and visit a barn. It’s best to reserve at least half a day here, as there’s so much to see.

    Local Flavors Around Poznan

After a busy day, we treated ourselves to some local dishes. In Plewiska, we dined at Restaurant Figa, which completely won us over with its amazing food and attention to detail. Kids loved the play area and special kids’ menu. Don’t miss the pavlova for dessert – it’s divine!

In Kórnik, we had a cozy meal at Restaurant Nestor near the lake promenade. There’s a kid-friendly menu, a play area, and delicious food for everyone.

Poznan and surroundings with kids – a perfect family getaway

Our trip to Poznan and its surroundings was packed with unforgettable moments, from historic castles to scenic parks and modern museums. It’s the perfect choice for families looking for a mix of fun, education, and nature. I’m already thinking of our next visit to continue exploring this charming area—proof that you don’t have to travel far for an adventure that will delight both kids and adults!

✨ Chemnitz – European Capital of Culture 2025 ✨
Just 2.5 hours by train from Berlin, and what a great weekend trip it turned out to be! We loved the creative vibe, post-industrial charm, and all the cultural events happening right now.

🏡 Where we stayed?
At Jugendherberge Chemnitz @jugendherberge – and it was such a good choice for families!
✔ Centrally located – perfect for exploring on foot
✔ Housed in an old Umformwerk building (industrial history turned into a hostel – love it!)
✔ Simple, comfortable rooms and a fresh breakfast to start the day
✔ Nice terrace for parents, a playroom for kids, and even a TV-free policy in the rooms – more time to actually betogether. (There’s a common TV room if you want 😉) //Werbung

🎨 What we did?
– Visited the @begehungen.festival – an international art festival held in unusual locations. This year it takes place at the former HKW Chemnitz-Nord (until 17.08).
– Explored the @industriemuseum_chemnitz , with fantastic exhibitions about the city’s industrial history and fun little booklets for kids.
– Relaxed at Pelzmühle park with its playground, stream (kids loved splashing!), and met Alvin, the world’s largest Räuchermann.
– Played at another lovely playground in Schlossteichpark.
– Strolled around the city, enjoying its mix of old architecture, new creative spots, and laid-back atmosphere.

@chemnitz2025 surprised us – a city transforming its industrial past into creative spaces that really serve people. If you’re looking for a weekend full of art, culture, and family-friendly fun – this is it! 💛

⛰️We spent a few unforgettable days in Seefeld and loved every minute of it! Surrounded by mountains and nature, it’s the perfect escape for families who love hiking, good food, and fun activities @visitseefeld

✅ Family-friendly hikes:
– Rundwanderung zur Triendlsäge - easy and scenic, with a must-stop at Triendlsäge Gasthof (amazing food!).
– Rundwanderung Wildsee - fun Kneipp water basins and info boards about local nature.
– Geisterklamm - thrilling gorge walk with bridges, a roaring river, and riddles for kids.
– Bergbahnen Rosshütte - cable cars, playground, and stunning views. You can hike further to Seefelder Spitze if you feel adventurous.

✅ Activities kids loved:
– Fishing at Leutascher Fischerei - rent everything on-site and even have your catch cooked for you.
– Sigi’s Sauhaufen - cuddly bunnies and pigs, perfect for animal lovers.

✅ Where to eat:
Triendlsäge Gasthof (our favorite), L5 Restaurant, Südtiroler Stuben, Seefelder Stube, Gasthaus Klammgeist, and Hochegg Alm for the best views.

✅ Good to know:
If you stay in official accommodation, you get the Seefeld Guest Card 'PlateauCard' - free buses and train rides in the region plus discounts on attractions.

We came back relaxed, happy, and already planning to return - Seefeld is truly perfect for families!

On my blog there is detailed post so make sure you don’t miss it!💛

🛝 What I really love about Berlin’s playgrounds is how diverse they are! Some are simple, others truly outstanding – but I always feel like there’s a lot of thought behind their design. They’re usually so well planned and creative.

Even though my kids are slowly growing out of being super excited about playgrounds, I personally still enjoy exploring them – and Berlin has so many! I always try to stay up to date and check if a new one pops up somewhere.

Recently, we visited five new-to-us playgrounds, and here are the details in case you want to check them out too:

🔹 Heißluftballon-Spielplatz – Gellertstraße 10, 12489 Berlin
Inside the hot-air balloon there’s a climbing net! Perfect to combine with a walk around Adlershof – so many interesting buildings to spot there.

🔹 Spielplatz mit Kletterfelsen – Kaiserin-Augusta-Allee 101, 10553 Berlin
Great for older kids who love a challenge – climbing those rocks wasn’t easy! But don’t worry, there’s also a more “normal” playground area.

🔹 Bergbau-Spielplatz Goslarer Platz
Another beautiful creation by @zimmer.obst_spielraum – always such unique designs!

🔹 Spielplatz im Fennpfuhlpark “Hamsterkäfig”
I really love the shape and form of this one – looks amazing, right?

🔹 Spielplatz – Zingster Str. 23, 13051 Berlin
A small playground, but with an interesting shape and some cool activity elements. And there is a very nice playground nearby that I will show you soon :).

Do you have any favorite playgrounds in Berlin?

Wondering if Luther’s Wedding in Wittenberg is worth a visit? It absolutely is! 🎉
Here’s a little recap from this year’s festival - and let me tell you, it was fantastic. We’re already planning to return next year, this time with proper costumes because the whole town dressed up and it looked amazing!

What I loved most was the atmosphere: people truly enjoying themselves, a sense of togetherness 🤝, and so many attractions - yet it never felt overwhelming. Everything was beautifully coordinated: medieval games ⚔️ for kids and adults, a whole area just for children 🏰, concerts 🎶, performances 🎭, the festive wedding procession, traditional crafts 🛠️, a giant wedding cake 🍰 for everyone to try, delicious food 🥘, and of course, the charming town of Lutherstadt itself 🏡.

We had such a great time - our kids didn’t even want to go back to the hotel at night! One of my favorite moments was the long table where everyone gathered to feast together 🍽️.
Wonderfully organized - truly recommend!

🌸June flew by - I honestly don’t know when or how. As always, it’s only when I look at the photos that I realize how much happened 😂.
And a lot happened, which is why I feel like I really need a bit of rest. The summer holidays are just around the corner, and I can’t wait - I’m heading off again for five weeks and fully intend to rest a bit.

☀️In June, we visited Austria and Lutherstadt Wittenberg. And we had there a super nice time.
🪩Mira had her birthday - how is she already seven?!
📕 I spent half the month studying for an exam, which was super stressful because I hadn’t studied for anything in a long time. But I passed it yesterday, and besides feeling a huge sense of relief, I also feel really proud of myself - and now I’m already thinking about what to learn next 😂. One huge bonus: Berlin’s beautiful libraries are amazing for studying.

🚲 I also had a team event at work - it went great! We cycled around a lake and had a picnic.
There were a few playground visits, a photo walk with @konaction (thank you so much for the first photo ❤️), and we also went to Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. I really regret not going in previous years - it was amazing!

Oh, and I’ve started working out again, and it’s going so well. The best part? Feeling my body get stronger!

So, that’s probably it. I’m curious to see what July brings - hopefully, it’ll be just a tiny bit calmer 😂.

Oh, and I’ve started working out again, and it’s going so well. The best part? Feeling my body get stronger!

So, that’s probably it. I’m curious to see what July brings - hopefully, it’ll be just a tiny bit calmer 😂.

We’ll be spending our Saturday night a little differently this weekend - diving into science! 🔬🌙✨
On June 28, over 50 research institutes all across Berlin are opening their doors for The Long Night of Science 2025 @lndwberlin - and honestly, it’s one of the most exciting family events of the year.

The best part? Tickets are just 5 € this year - because it’s the 25th anniversary! 🎉

Here’s what you can expect:
🧪 Hands-on experiments
🤖 AI and climate talks
🧬 Lab tours & science shows
🎮 Escape game
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Activities for kids, teens & curious grown-ups
(yes, even if you’re not a “science person”)

This year’s program is BIG - with over 1000 events!

You can filter everything by location, age or interest and create your own schedule online (super helpful when it gets overwhelming).

If you’re wondering how fun science can be - this is the night to find out! 😍

💆‍♀️I go for a massage every week – it’s my way to release all the tension – and this one was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Berlin. One of those massages where you feel like someone actually understands what your body needs.

Marta works with different techniques and adapts everything to how you feel that day - from deep tissue and trigger point therapy to prenatal or postnatal massage. And I have to say… if you’re pregnant, just gave birth, or looking for a gift for someone who did – go for it. Everyone buys gifts for the baby, but who did all the work? 💛

✨ Winner will be picked in one week. Good luck & enjoy 🌿

We spent 4 unforgettable days in the beautiful @visitseefeld , and we totally fell in love with it! ⛰️💛 Surrounded by stunning mountains that brought both joy and calm, it felt like a true escape.

One thing I really appreciated: how accessible everything was – even without a car. Thanks to well-connected buses and trains, getting around was super easy and stress-free.

Here’s what we got up to:
✨ Walked through the magical Leutascher Geisterklamm
🚠 Took the cable car up to Rosshütte and hiked with breathtaking views
🎣 Fished at what might be the most beautiful fishing spot ever Die Leutascher Fischerei
🍽️ Ate amazing food (Kaiserschmarrn forever!)
🐐 Visited the sweetest petting zoo at Sigis Sauhaufen
🚶‍♀️ And enjoyed plenty of scenic walks

It was such a perfect mix of adventure and slow moments. We already know we’ll be back!
This is just a little sneak peek - I’m working on a detailed blog post and a reel so you can see even more. Stay tuned! 💛

Stay tuned! 💛
