🐊 Everglades National Park is one of the most unique national parks in the U.S. - and one of the largest! Established in 1947, it protects over 1.5 million acres of wetlands, swamps, and mangroves, and is home to crocodiles, manatees, panthers, alligators… and even dolphins, which we spotted on our boat tour from Everglades City (highly recommend!).
🐊We explored the park from three different entrances:
Everglades City by boat - magical experience with wildlife sightings
Shark Valley Visitor Center - take the tram tour! Our guide was a brilliant storyteller, and we learned so much. You ride out to an observation tower and return via a different route, with animal stops along the way. You can also rent bikes here!
Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center - great educational exhibit + short walking trails. We loved Anhinga Trail, Gumbo Limbo Trail, and Pinelands Trail.
🐊Your entrance ticket is valid for 7 days, which is amazing.
🐊We stayed overnight in Everglades City, and it was a great base for the boat tour - but you could also visit from Miami, Homestead, or even Naples depending on the area you want to see.
💚 Everglades truly stole our hearts - wild, vast, and unforgettable. Don’t miss it if you’re planning a trip to Florida!
