✨ Chemnitz – European Capital of Culture 2025 ✨
Just 2.5 hours by train from Berlin, and what a great weekend trip it turned out to be! We loved the creative vibe, post-industrial charm, and all the cultural events happening right now.

🏡 Where we stayed?
At Jugendherberge Chemnitz @jugendherberge – and it was such a good choice for families!
✔ Centrally located – perfect for exploring on foot
✔ Housed in an old Umformwerk building (industrial history turned into a hostel – love it!)
✔ Simple, comfortable rooms and a fresh breakfast to start the day
✔ Nice terrace for parents, a playroom for kids, and even a TV-free policy in the rooms – more time to actually betogether. (There’s a common TV room if you want 😉) //Werbung

🎨 What we did?
– Visited the @begehungen.festival – an international art festival held in unusual locations. This year it takes place at the former HKW Chemnitz-Nord (until 17.08).
– Explored the @industriemuseum_chemnitz , with fantastic exhibitions about the city’s industrial history and fun little booklets for kids.
– Relaxed at Pelzmühle park with its playground, stream (kids loved splashing!), and met Alvin, the world’s largest Räuchermann.
– Played at another lovely playground in Schlossteichpark.
– Strolled around the city, enjoying its mix of old architecture, new creative spots, and laid-back atmosphere.

@chemnitz2025 surprised us – a city transforming its industrial past into creative spaces that really serve people. If you’re looking for a weekend full of art, culture, and family-friendly fun – this is it! 💛

⛰️We spent a few unforgettable days in Seefeld and loved every minute of it! Surrounded by mountains and nature, it’s the perfect escape for families who love hiking, good food, and fun activities @visitseefeld

✅ Family-friendly hikes:
– Rundwanderung zur Triendlsäge - easy and scenic, with a must-stop at Triendlsäge Gasthof (amazing food!).
– Rundwanderung Wildsee - fun Kneipp water basins and info boards about local nature.
– Geisterklamm - thrilling gorge walk with bridges, a roaring river, and riddles for kids.
– Bergbahnen Rosshütte - cable cars, playground, and stunning views. You can hike further to Seefelder Spitze if you feel adventurous.

✅ Activities kids loved:
– Fishing at Leutascher Fischerei - rent everything on-site and even have your catch cooked for you.
– Sigi’s Sauhaufen - cuddly bunnies and pigs, perfect for animal lovers.

✅ Where to eat:
Triendlsäge Gasthof (our favorite), L5 Restaurant, Südtiroler Stuben, Seefelder Stube, Gasthaus Klammgeist, and Hochegg Alm for the best views.

✅ Good to know:
If you stay in official accommodation, you get the Seefeld Guest Card 'PlateauCard' - free buses and train rides in the region plus discounts on attractions.

We came back relaxed, happy, and already planning to return - Seefeld is truly perfect for families!

On my blog there is detailed post so make sure you don’t miss it!💛

🛝 What I really love about Berlin’s playgrounds is how diverse they are! Some are simple, others truly outstanding – but I always feel like there’s a lot of thought behind their design. They’re usually so well planned and creative.

Even though my kids are slowly growing out of being super excited about playgrounds, I personally still enjoy exploring them – and Berlin has so many! I always try to stay up to date and check if a new one pops up somewhere.

Recently, we visited five new-to-us playgrounds, and here are the details in case you want to check them out too:

🔹 Heißluftballon-Spielplatz – Gellertstraße 10, 12489 Berlin
Inside the hot-air balloon there’s a climbing net! Perfect to combine with a walk around Adlershof – so many interesting buildings to spot there.

🔹 Spielplatz mit Kletterfelsen – Kaiserin-Augusta-Allee 101, 10553 Berlin
Great for older kids who love a challenge – climbing those rocks wasn’t easy! But don’t worry, there’s also a more “normal” playground area.

🔹 Bergbau-Spielplatz Goslarer Platz
Another beautiful creation by @zimmer.obst_spielraum – always such unique designs!

🔹 Spielplatz im Fennpfuhlpark “Hamsterkäfig”
I really love the shape and form of this one – looks amazing, right?

🔹 Spielplatz – Zingster Str. 23, 13051 Berlin
A small playground, but with an interesting shape and some cool activity elements. And there is a very nice playground nearby that I will show you soon :).

Do you have any favorite playgrounds in Berlin?

🔹 Bergbau-Spielplatz Goslarer Platz
Another beautiful creation by @zimmer.obst_spielraum – always such unique designs!

🔹 Spielplatz im Fennpfuhlpark “Hamsterkäfig”
I really love the shape and form of this one – looks amazing, right?

🔹 Spielplatz – Zingster Str. 23, 13051 Berlin
A small playground, but with an interesting shape and some cool activity elements. And there is a very nice playground nearby that I will show you soon :).

Wondering if Luther’s Wedding in Wittenberg is worth a visit? It absolutely is! 🎉
Here’s a little recap from this year’s festival - and let me tell you, it was fantastic. We’re already planning to return next year, this time with proper costumes because the whole town dressed up and it looked amazing!

What I loved most was the atmosphere: people truly enjoying themselves, a sense of togetherness 🤝, and so many attractions - yet it never felt overwhelming. Everything was beautifully coordinated: medieval games ⚔️ for kids and adults, a whole area just for children 🏰, concerts 🎶, performances 🎭, the festive wedding procession, traditional crafts 🛠️, a giant wedding cake 🍰 for everyone to try, delicious food 🥘, and of course, the charming town of Lutherstadt itself 🏡.

We had such a great time - our kids didn’t even want to go back to the hotel at night! One of my favorite moments was the long table where everyone gathered to feast together 🍽️.
Wonderfully organized - truly recommend!

🌸June flew by - I honestly don’t know when or how. As always, it’s only when I look at the photos that I realize how much happened 😂.
And a lot happened, which is why I feel like I really need a bit of rest. The summer holidays are just around the corner, and I can’t wait - I’m heading off again for five weeks and fully intend to rest a bit.

☀️In June, we visited Austria and Lutherstadt Wittenberg. And we had there a super nice time.
🪩Mira had her birthday - how is she already seven?!
📕 I spent half the month studying for an exam, which was super stressful because I hadn’t studied for anything in a long time. But I passed it yesterday, and besides feeling a huge sense of relief, I also feel really proud of myself - and now I’m already thinking about what to learn next 😂. One huge bonus: Berlin’s beautiful libraries are amazing for studying.

🚲 I also had a team event at work - it went great! We cycled around a lake and had a picnic.
There were a few playground visits, a photo walk with @konaction (thank you so much for the first photo ❤️), and we also went to Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. I really regret not going in previous years - it was amazing!

Oh, and I’ve started working out again, and it’s going so well. The best part? Feeling my body get stronger!

So, that’s probably it. I’m curious to see what July brings - hopefully, it’ll be just a tiny bit calmer 😂.

We’ll be spending our Saturday night a little differently this weekend - diving into science! 🔬🌙✨
On June 28, over 50 research institutes all across Berlin are opening their doors for The Long Night of Science 2025 @lndwberlin - and honestly, it’s one of the most exciting family events of the year.

The best part? Tickets are just 5 € this year - because it’s the 25th anniversary! 🎉

Here’s what you can expect:
🧪 Hands-on experiments
🤖 AI and climate talks
🧬 Lab tours & science shows
🎮 Escape game
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Activities for kids, teens & curious grown-ups
(yes, even if you’re not a “science person”)

This year’s program is BIG - with over 1000 events!

You can filter everything by location, age or interest and create your own schedule online (super helpful when it gets overwhelming).

If you’re wondering how fun science can be - this is the night to find out! 😍

💆‍♀️I go for a massage every week – it’s my way to release all the tension – and this one was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Berlin. One of those massages where you feel like someone actually understands what your body needs.

Marta works with different techniques and adapts everything to how you feel that day - from deep tissue and trigger point therapy to prenatal or postnatal massage. And I have to say… if you’re pregnant, just gave birth, or looking for a gift for someone who did – go for it. Everyone buys gifts for the baby, but who did all the work? 💛

✨ Winner will be picked in one week. Good luck & enjoy 🌿

We spent 4 unforgettable days in the beautiful @visitseefeld , and we totally fell in love with it! ⛰️💛 Surrounded by stunning mountains that brought both joy and calm, it felt like a true escape.

One thing I really appreciated: how accessible everything was – even without a car. Thanks to well-connected buses and trains, getting around was super easy and stress-free.

Here’s what we got up to:
✨ Walked through the magical Leutascher Geisterklamm
🚠 Took the cable car up to Rosshütte and hiked with breathtaking views
🎣 Fished at what might be the most beautiful fishing spot ever Die Leutascher Fischerei
🍽️ Ate amazing food (Kaiserschmarrn forever!)
🐐 Visited the sweetest petting zoo at Sigis Sauhaufen
🚶‍♀️ And enjoyed plenty of scenic walks

It was such a perfect mix of adventure and slow moments. We already know we’ll be back!
This is just a little sneak peek - I’m working on a detailed blog post and a reel so you can see even more. Stay tuned! 💛
