  • 🌳 Day 3 in Achterhoek 🌳 Our time flew by way too fast, and Sunday already had us heading back to Berlin. I started the day with a refreshing 16km bike ride, taking a scenic route that began and ended at our stay, @detweebruggen . Meanwhile, my husband and kids enjoyed some pool time! We tried the ropes course, and it was hands down the best we’ve been to so far. Nestled in the forest, the park offers trails for all difficulty levels. I stuck to the easier routes with my youngest, while my husband and older kids took on the tougher ones – they even had a blast on a “bungee” jump for an extra adrenaline rush! 🌲💪 Afterward, we headed to @deheikamp , where we met the owner and heard the wonderful story behind the place. What started as a small restaurant has grown into a fantastic family-friendly spot where you can easily spend the whole day.   • 🌞Day 2 in Achterhoek🌞 @achterhoekferien has a way of keeping you entertained every moment! We kicked off the day at Abenteurerpark Hof van Eckberge @hof_van_eckberge and spent a few hours soaking up the fun - playgrounds, animals, and one seriously cool adventure golf course. We even tried Laser Tag (my first time!), and while I might not have been the best (turns out, I wasn’t pressing the “shoot” button 😅), it was such a blast! After some yummy food and indoor playtime for the kids, we were off to our next adventures. 🚴 My husband and son, MTB fans, headed out to explore the trails in Achterhoek, renting bikes right at our holiday park. They had an epic time cycling and came back with huge smiles! 🐐 For me and girls it was time to visit Ziegenbauernhof de Brömmels: This farm is a slice of heaven! We got to walk with the goats, which was… let’s just say, unpredictable! We had one sweet goat and one naughty one who kept things interesting 🤣. After the adventure, we enjoyed a platter of the farm’s delicious goat cheeses and fresh goat milk for the girls. I couldn’t resist taking some cheese home! 🌲 Afternoon Hike: The golden autumn landscape was calling, so we wrapped up with a peaceful hike, we started just next to the goat farm. It was breathtakingly beautiful, calm, and the perfect autumn hike. 🍽️ Dinner at Suzie’s Farm @suziesfarmaalten To end the day, we dined at Suzie’s Farm - a gorgeous spot with delicious food, super family-friendly vibes, a kids’ menu, and an amazing playroom.   • We spent three wonderful days in @achterhoekferien , a hidden gem in the Netherlands right near the German border. This region truly charmed us with its welcoming people, outstanding pedestrian and biking infrastructure, and countless family-friendly activities. Everywhere we looked, it was serene, lush, and beautifully green 🌿 - we can’t wait to go back! Here’s what we explored on our first day: 🏠 Stay: @detweebruggen — This place is a dream for families! We stayed in a cozy cabin that fit all 5 of us perfectly, fully equipped with everything we needed. Ferienpark itself is a mini paradise: playgrounds, kids’ activities, and biking trails that start right there! Just a short walk away, there’s a scenic riverside path, plus a supermarket, bike rental, swimming pool and info center for exploring the area. The on-site restaurant was a hit, too - our dinner was delicious! 🎟️ Activities: 1. @nationaalonderduikmuseum - We kicked off with this fascinating museum, where we learned so much about the region’s history. It’s kid-friendly, with interactive exhibits and a fun quiz booklet to keep little explorers engaged. 2. @theehuisdebusker - After the museum, we experienced a Dutch ‘high tea’ tradition I hadn’t known about! This charming spot served us fresh tea with an array of both sweet and savory treats. The warm scones? An absolute highlight! The owners were incredibly welcoming, making our time there even more special. 3. Hiking near Teehaus de Busker - After tea, we set off on a lovely nearby trail. As the sun began to set, we wished we had more daylight to explore further! 🍽️ Dinner at @bertrambredevoort - To end our day, we dined at this cozy spot. Not only was the food delicious, but the ambiance was also just perfect for winding down. Warm, welcoming, and so satisfying! As you can see, we’re all about Achterhoek! I was amazed by how much I learned about the unique ecosystem of the Wadden Sea and the incredible animals and plants that thrive there. From tiny organisms hidden in the mudflats to majestic birds overhead, the center provides a deep dive into this coastal wonder. One fascinating discovery? The Wattenwurm! This little lugworm plays a huge role in keeping the mudflats healthy, churning up the mud to create a perfect environment for other creatures. They even leave behind little “spaghetti poop” piles, which can be spotted all over the Wadden Sea beaches! 🍝 And here’s the best part: in April/May, you can actually spot Schweinswale (harbor porpoises) right here in Wilhelmshaven! We kicked off the day at Abenteurerpark Hof van Eckberge @hof_van_eckberge and spent a few hours soaking up the fun - playgrounds, animals, and one seriously cool adventure golf course. We even tried Laser Tag (my first time!), and while I might not have been the best (turns out, I wasn’t pressing the “shoot” button 😅), it was such a blast! After some yummy food and indoor playtime for the kids, we were off to our next adventures. 🚴 My husband and son, MTB fans, headed out to explore the trails in Achterhoek, renting bikes right at our holiday park. They had an epic time cycling and came back with huge smiles! 🐐 For me and girls it was time to visit Ziegenbauernhof de Brömmels: This farm is a slice of heaven! We got to walk with the goats, which was… let’s just say, unpredictable! We had one sweet goat and one naughty one who kept things interesting 🤣. After the adventure, we enjoyed a platter of the farm’s delicious goat cheeses and fresh goat milk for the girls. I couldn’t resist taking some cheese home! 🌲 Afternoon Hike: The golden autumn landscape was calling, so we wrapped up with a peaceful hike, we started just next to the goat farm. We even tried Laser Tag (my first time!), and while I might not have been the best (turns out, I wasn’t pressing the “shoot” button 😅), it was such a blast! After some yummy food and indoor playtime for the kids, we were off to our next adventures. 🚴 My husband and son, MTB fans, headed out to explore the trails in Achterhoek, renting bikes right at our holiday park. They had an epic time cycling and came back with huge smiles! 🐐 For me and girls it was time to visit Ziegenbauernhof de Brömmels: This farm is a slice of heaven! We got to walk with the goats, which was… let’s just say, unpredictable! We had one sweet goat and one naughty one who kept things interesting 🤣. After the adventure, we enjoyed a platter of the farm’s delicious goat cheeses and fresh goat milk for the girls. I couldn’t resist taking some cheese home! 🌲 Afternoon Hike: The golden autumn landscape was calling, so we wrapped up with a peaceful hike, we started just next to the goat farm. It was breathtakingly beautiful, calm, and the perfect autumn hike. 🍽️ Dinner at Suzie’s Farm @suziesfarmaalten To end the day, we dined at Suzie’s Farm - a gorgeous spot with delicious food, super family-friendly vibes, a kids’ menu, and an amazing playroom.
